390,006. Compound sheets or slabs for partitions ; coverings for walls &c. SALZEDO, A. D. A., 9, Rue Guerard, Fontenay-aux- Roses, Seine, France. May 2, 1932, No. 12650, Convention date, May 1, 1931. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i).] A partition or panel comprises a support of vegetable fibre to which is applied a silicate cement and on to which facing elements or tiles of ceramic or other material are pressed. The tiles may comprise terra-cotta, porcelain, earthenware; or pÔte de verre. The silicate cement may be made with sodium silicate and sand or china-clay or asbestos or carbonate of lime, or sulphate of baryta. The panels may be provided with strips near the vertical edges, each strip being perforated to receive screws, the perforated portions being faced after the panels have been secured in position. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the support may be of plywood, sheet-metal, or lathing, and that the panels may be used as wainscoting, which is screwed on to laths. The joints between the tiles may be pointed with baryta, or cement. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
