June 17, 1931, No. 17633. Convention date, June 19, 1930. Void [Published under Sect: 91 of the Acts]. Addition to 377,650. [Class 99 (ii).] In the process described in the parent Specification for producing pipes suitable for shipment immediately after the application thereto of rust-proofing material, the paper strip 3, which is wound on the pipe 1 simultaneously with or shortly after the impregnated jute strip 2, is coated over the whole of its inner surface with adhesive 5. The adhesive may be applied to the paper by passing the latter prior to winding over a roller dipping into a bath of the adhesive ; alternatively the inner surface of the paper is provided with a dry adhesive which becomes moist when wrapped around the still warm pipe. The paper employed is preferably of a light colour.
