380,255. Holders for rolls of adhesive tape. MATHER, Ltd., W. and BERRY, E., Dyer Street, Hulme, Manchester. Sept. 21, 1931, No. 26324. [Class 18.] In a holder for a roll of adhesive tape of the type comprising telescoping hollow tubes a, b to which are affixed end discs A, B and an outer concentric casing, the discs A, B are dished outwards near their periphery to take the outer casing comprising a metal &c. ring D which is unattached to either of the flanges ; and the inner tube a is longer than the other tube and is provided with a bevelled end a<3> to facilitate pressing the discs apart. Both tubes may be slit longitudinally, and tube a is provided with an annular groove a<2> in which projections b<2>, pins, or an annular ridge on tube b can engage. The roll of tape is wound on a core c of paper, cardboard, fibre, or metal, rotatably mounted on the tube b. An unwinding slot may be provided in the ring D, a strip of adhesive material covering the slot when it is not being used. The holder is formed of sheet metal. According to the Provisional Specification, the core c may be of wood.
