Abstract

235,297. Clarke, F. J., and Forknall, A. J. March 11, 1924. Pulleys. - Runners or bobbins for use in winding yarns into hanks or skeins and in unwinding therefrom comprising end discs connected by a distance-piece have the end discs or distancepiece or both formed of thermo-plastic material, that is, an organic material capable of being moulded under heat and pressure, for example the materials known under the registered Trade Marks " Cellastoid " and " Galilith," or any casein, cellulose, phenolic condensation or like material. The end discs a may be corrugated as shown, and the barrel b, which is secured to annular portions of the discs, may be formed from a corrugated strip united at its ends by welding or by means of an adhesive strip b'. The end discs are provided with metal or other bearing bushes, or a tube may be fitted between the discs.
