Abstract
469,310. Drying paper. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.- GES. April 8, 1937, No. 10005. Convention date, April 22, 1936. [Class 34 (i)] In a device for drying paper webs used in copper-plate printing, in which drying air is blown through a channel 3, the bottom of the channel being formed by the paper web 1 which moves over a rotating drum or support 2, the drum is extended laterally and is surrounded by a packing strip 6 which is provided on its inner side with a brush 7 of velvet-like material adapted to prevent the escape laterally of air laden with solvent vapour. The strip 6 may be surrounded by a chamber 8 under the influence of an induced draught whereby any vapour passing through the brush 7 may be removed.
