Abstract

278,217. Textile Paper Tube Co., Ltd., and Hamilton, D. Dec. 17, 1926. Bobbins or spools.-In bobbins or spools built up with a barrel and one or two flanges of cardboard or like material, the flanges are secured to the barrels by metal washers C cut in the form shown in Fig. 2 and shaped as in Fig. 3 to form spikes C<1>. The barrels have shoulders A<1>, Fig. 1, for receiving the flanges B which are dished as at B<1> and may be glued on if desired. The washers are pressed into position and the spikes C' are expanded to engage the bore of the barrel the head of the washer being spun over the central aperture in the flange as shown, the washer projecting just sufficiently far beyond the flanges to act as an end bearing.
