Abstract

103,784. Gaunt, J. S., and Dyson, H. Sept. 13, 1916. Thread-guides.-The lappet or guide comprises a porcelain or other suitable eye secured in a bifurcated holder 1, which is caused to grip it by the means with which the holder is secured to the lappet board. A bolt 8, passing through a slot 7 in the lappet board and a slot 6 in the holder, secures the holder in place. The lappet board has bevelled sides adapted to engage and press together the bevelled faces 9, Fig. 2, of the holder 1. The eye has a projection to engage a notch 5 in the holder to prevent rotary displacement. The holder 1 has flared wings 3 to guide the thread into position, and slots 4 to prevent the thread from jumping out. The washer on the bolt 8 may have tapered sides to engage correspondingly tapered edges on the holder.
