Thread-guides for winding-machines, spinning- frames, and other like apparatus comprise a guide member b preferably formed of some vitreous material, having an eye d for the thread and an opening h leading into it, and a cross-member m bridging the opening into the eye and straddling the sides of the guide member. The member b is formed with an abutment k projecting through a slot in the member m and a prong l rising into the slot, and providing a clearance for the thread &c. to pass into the opening h. The member b is secured to the cross-member m by a screw g. Specification 569/10 is referred to.
