Abstract
14,196. Brown, N. S., and Wroe, H. June 18. Thread - guides. - In spinning, doubling, and like machines, the lappet is formed with a large aperture through which fluff &c. is drawn down and blown away by the ballooning yarn. The invention is shown applied to the lappet B and guide-plate C described in Specification 3261/10 which are cut away as shown to form the aperture. When the guide-eye is of wire, the lappet is cut away as before described, and carries a cross-bar or lugs &c. to support the guide-eye. A lug c to hold the usual threadcatcher may be stamped on the plate C.
