Bobbins. - The upper ends of long collar bobbins, Fig. 2, and one or both ends of short collar bobbins, Fig. 13, for textile machinery are provided with snicks S at the surface of the top portion or shield A for the purpose of securing the ends of the sliver &c. when commencing a new set. Various kinds of shields A may be used. According to the Provisional Specification, springs, clips, or catches may be used instead of the snicks.
