18,166. Horrocks, J. Sept. 8. Spindle apparatus for ring spinning and doubling frames. The ring is made in two parts a, b, enclosing an annular space in which the ends of a wire traveller d move, such ends being bent at right-angles and preferably formed into eyes. The traveller works between a flange b<1> formed on the part b, and a corresponding flange a' on the upper part a, which forms a protecting-cap. The traveller may be straight between its ends, but is preferably formed with a hook or guide-eye at the centre. Reference is made to the wire travellers described in Specifications Nos. 774 and 21,072, A.D. 1900, and No. 19,430, A.D. 1904.
