Abstract
7657. Brown, H. L. April 8, 1913. Spindle apparatus.-In spindles of the kind described in Specification 8270/13, provided with holding - down means as described in Specification 28,278/12, means are provided for limiting the upward movement of the lubricant in the lubricating - trough. The positively-acting driving- band 13 and the sleeves 10 which it drives are enclosed in a lubricating- trough 18 made of compressed fibre, in the cover of which a nipple 35 is removably secured by bayonet-fastenings for the purpose of preventing the withdrawal of the spindle when doffing and the escape of lubricant. A flange 27 is also provided on the spindle to deflect the lubricant radially and prevent its upward movement.
