373,302. Flexible tubes. COMPAGNIA ITALIANA TUBI METALLICI FLESSIBILI, 50, Via Cervino, Turin, Italy. March 3, 1931, No. 6614. Convention date, March 3, 1930. [Class 99 (ii).] A rubber-covered flexible metallic tube comprising interlocked helical windings 1 has an intermediate layer 4 of cellulosic material which penetrates into the helical groove in the tube. The cellulosic material may be applied in liquid form or by winding a strip and is forced into the groove by winding a cord 5 or by rolling. The rubber covering 3 may be applied in an unvulcanized state upon the layer of cellulosic material which is made to enter the groove by the vulcanizing process.
