Abstract

Drinking tubes are made of a waterproof paper, such as highly calendered sulphite cellulose paper, which is coated on both sides with a condensate formed from carbamide and formaldehyde and subsequently hardened. The tube may be formed by temporarily softening the condensate and sticking the parts together, or one side may be coated in the winding machine. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 171,094, [Class 99 (ii), Pipes, tubes, &c.].
