[Class 80 (i).] In toy tip-wagons &c., two or more mechanisms are selectively brought into gearing engagement with a continuously rotating driving-shaft. The driving-shaft 12 is driven by an electromotor 57, connected by flex to an electric plug, through worm and bevel gearing, and carries a pinion 13 engaging a pinion 21 on a pin 20 in a carrier 15, 16, which is supported on the shaft 12 and is driven through a friction washer 19 by tha pinion 13. Pinions 28, 29, 30 are carried in fixed bearings so as to be engaged in turn by the pinion 21 as the pinion 13 and carrier rotate. If the carrier is unrestrained, the pinion 21 rolls idly over the pinions 28 &c., with the friction drive temporarily slipping, so that no power is transmitted. The carrier has, however, three lugs 18 which are engageable by a hook 34 on an electromagnet armature 33, except when the magnet is energized by closing a switch, so that the carrier may be held with the pinion 21 in selected engagement with the pinions 28 &c., which are thereby driven. Alternatively, a single lug 18 and three electromagnets selectively operated may be used. The pinion 13 may be replaced by chain gearing driving the pinion 21 from the shaft 12. The pinions 29, 30 are respectively geared to wheels 45 &c. driving the road wheels of the wagon in forward and reverse directions. The pinion 28 drives, through bevel and worm gearing, a crank arm 53 which tips and lowers the dump body through a connecting-rod 55.
