388,743. Vehicle-axle brasses. MATTHEWS, E. F., Elm Cottage, Watford Road, Wembley, Middlesex. Aug. 25, 1931, No. 23901. Convention date, Sept. 1, 1930. [Class 12 (i).] In a vehicle-axle bearing which is lubricated by lubricant which drips from edges 5 on to the journal 4, the bearing brass 2 is made of a copper alloy which rests directly on the journal. The brass 2 has an iron or steel strengthening shell 1, the adjacent faces of the brass and shell having interengaging grooves or tongues. Specifications 331,872, [Class 12 (i), Bearings &c.], and 384,367, [Group XXII], are referred to.
