Brasses.-A composite bearing comprises a shell A of gun-metal or similar metal and a phosphor bronze liner A<1> cast together in an iron or steel mould. The liner A<1> forms only a part of the bearing surface the other part being formed by the shell A. The bearing may be coated with white metal.
