Abstract
655,914. Bearing bushes. DEBROCK, M. L. Oct. 12, 1948, No. 26532. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A bearing bush &c. is made by shaping a bronze blank with flaring projections on one face, casting on this face a more fusible metal, e.g. aluminium or an alloy thereof, casting antifriction metal on the other face and trimming. The bronze part 1 with projections 2 may be made by casting, the minimum crosssection of the projections being about 10 sq. mm., but may be increased to 50 e<SP>2</SP>, where e is the thickness of the part 1. The height of each projection should not exceed 10e. The projections may be of circular cross-section. The composite casting 1, 3 may be machined and worked and then the antifriction metal is cast on the other face of the bronze part.
