Abstract
388,717. Diesel-electric locomotives. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. March 23, 1932, No. 77/33. Divided application. [Class 79 (iii).] In a locomotive of the Diesel-electric type in which the generating plant and the driving motors are carried on separate frames, the frame 9 carrying the motors 4 is supported on wheels 7 driven from the motors, as by toothed gears 5, 6, and running bogies 12, 13, whilst the frame carrying the internal-combustion engine 1 and electric generator 2, which is supported at the outer end on a running bogie 8, is supported at the inner end by an articulated joint 11 on the frame 9 between the pivot of the bogie 12 and the adjacent driving axle.
