Abstract

388,293. Covering cores by winding. ETABLISSEMENTS ROTATISS, 14, Rue Frederick Lemaitre, Paris. July 20, 1932, No. 20498. Convention date, July 31, 1931. [Class 109.] The machine is stopped when the material, such as paper from a roll, or thread from a bobbin 4, breaks or is used up. The material passes from the supply on the counterbalanced plate 3 rotating with the main spindle 2 round a guide 5 into engagement with one of two arms 7, 8 on a ring mounted loosely on the reduced part 2<1> of the spindle. The ring is thereby normally caused to rotate at the same speed as the part 2<1> which is formed with a screw thread of long pitch engaged by one of the arms. When the material breaks &c. the ring is able to rotate slower than the part 2<1> so that it descends and engages a spring-controlled arm 9 and knocks it out of its retaining notch. The arm is thereupon rotated by its spring about its axis 11 and its heel piece moves into engagement with a screw thread on a shaft 13 driven through belt gearing from the main shaft. The shaft is thereby moved endwise, a long key engaged by its driving pulley 15 allowing for this movement. Two discs 17<1> on the shaft 13 engage the main driving belt 17 and move this on to the loose pulley of the machine, whereby this is stopped.
