Abstract

387,688. Washing- machines. WRIGHT, E., Willowdene, Leighton Avenue, Pinner, Middlesex. May 13, 1931, No. 14145. [Class 138 (ii).] A machine for decorticating fibrous material of the kind in which a slotted plate 12, Figs. 2 and 5, is reciprocated between two slotted plates 10, 11 so as to break the woody portions of fibrous material fed therethrough, is stated to be of use for washing clothes. Each plate 11 is pressed laterally by springs 15 while the plates 12 are reciprocated by eccentrics 20 acting through members 19, 17, Fig. 1. The feed or crushing rollers 24, 24a ; 25, 25a ; 26, 26a are provided with springs 27, while the slots in the plates 10, 11, 12 may be formed with renewable edges 43, Fig. 5.
