Abstract

413,834. Embossing webs of paper &c. MOUGEOT, M. J. M., Laval-BruyÞres, Vosges, France. April 26, 1933, No. 12129. [Class 96.] In a device for embossing the whole width of a web of paper &c. at a stage between the wire-cloth and the final drying plant, the embossing roll 4 which is of small diameter and readily replaced is carried by a frame 7 articulated to the main frame 3 and pressed against the lower embossing roll 5 of large diameter by a second upper roll 9 also of large diameter carried by a frame 10 also articulated to the frame 3, the frame 10 and eventually also the frame 7 being connected to a screw-spindle 12 actuated by a hand-wheel 13 to vary the depth of the embossing &c. The rolls 5, 9 are preferably covered with elastic material.
