Abstract

387,088. Cabinets and tables. PINTO, E. H., 44, Chilton Court, Clarence Gate, and BOVIS, Ltd., 35, High Street, Marylebone, both in London. Dec. 21, 1931, No. 35275. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (iii).] A cabinet for housing collapsable articles of furniture, such as tables and seats, is formed so that the tops of the tables, or their equivalents, constitute one or more sides of it. The device shown consists of a shallow carcase or frame comprising a floor board 1, a roofboard 2, and end walls 3, 4, the front and back being closed by the tops 5 of two tables. It is supported by feet 7, and at the top is a locker 9. The table shown consists of a rectangular top removable from the legs 11, Fig. 2, which are arranged at the ends of a bar 12 and of two struts 13, 14 pivoted at 13a, 14a to the bar 12 so as to enable them to fold against it. The table tops having been removed from their leg frames, the leg frames are hung inside the cabinet frame, and the table tops are placed in the front and back of it. The undersides of the tables are fitted with beadings 17, handles 19, and other ornamentations. The corners of the beadings 17 serve to retain the tops of the legs 11.
