Abstract

385,010. Sifting-apparatus. SCHIEFERSTEIN, G. H., 105, Alt-Moabit, Berlin. July 23, 1931, No. 21048. [Class 117.] In sifting-apparatus of the kind comprising screens having an orbital movement in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the screens, the natural frequency of vibration of the screen is made substantially greater than the working frequency of the apparatus so as to suppress resonance effects, by subdividing the screen frame into sections by one or more ribs, bars &c secured to the frame and to the screen surface. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the screen frame a has longitudinal and cross-bars g to which the screen surface b is secured. The screen is mounted in a box d which is supported on resilient blocks e and fixed shafts and is actuated by a rotary unbalanced weight u. In Fig. 3, the screen is shown as constructed of separate tubular or cellular members. The modification shown in Fig. 4 has screening fabric at the top and bottom of the cells.
