Abstract

384,770. Bichromate processes. LESSEPS, F. DE, 65, Rue de Courcelles, Paris. Nov. 17, 1931, No. 31906. Convention date, Feb. 6. [Class 98 (ii).] To vary the contrasts in a print sodium bichromate and potassium bichromate are used in variable proportions, the former tending to produce soft, and the latter hard, contrasts. Particulars of different proportions are given. The print is developed first in cold water, then in warm water (to which ammonium or potassium carbonate may be added) to dissolve away unexposed colloid. The prints are coloured by successive immersion in solutions which react to form a coloured compound, for example first in iron perchloride and then in pyrogallic acid, tannic acid, or gallic acid.
