Convention date, March 24, 1932. [Class 98 (ii).] Photographic imbibition images are produced with the aid of dyestuffs which are incorporated in the sensitized material, before exposure. In examples, suitable dyes are admixed with a silver halide emulsion before pouring. The exposed material is developed and fixed and subsequently converted into a printing matrix by hardening or tanning, e.g. the fixed image is converted into a tanned image by treatment with bichromate. A tanned image may be produced by the use of a tanning developer, e.g. pyrogallol. Impressions are taken on the final support from the tanned image after allowing it to dry. The developed and fixed image may also be treated in dye-discharging baths such as are described in Specifications 395,718, 397,159, 397,188, and 397,192. Specifications 25419/13 and 103,890, [both in Class 98 (ii)], also are referred to.
