Abstract
475,264. Photographic sensitive material. BACHMAIR. J., and KOLLMANN, L. Feb. 14, 1936, No. 4530. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 15, 1936.] [Class 98 (ii)] A process of sensitizing paper for treatment by the aniline process consists in treating the paper with a chromate, bichromate or a lightsensitive heavy metal salt, e.g. cerium sulphate, and with an organic acid in solution with a metal oxide, carbonate, silicate or an alkali which, acting as a buffering agent, reduces the acidity and prevents reaction between the sensitizer and the paper base. The sensitizing salt may be applied either in the acid solution. or as a separate solution after the acid solution, or as part of both acid solution and separate solution. Citric, oxalic and formic acids arc examples of acids used. One example of both acid and sensitizing solutions is given. A suitable fuming developer for the paper comprises aniline and water mixed together in the proportions 1 : 9. Specification 252,012, [Class 98 (ii)], is referred to.
