Abstract
384,624. Automatic circuit-breakers for electric irons. CLERC, H. SCHNEIDER-, 19, Rue du Doubs, La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. Sept. 2, 1932, No. 24534. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1931. [Class 38 (v).] In a thermally-released circuit-breaker for an electric iron, an expanding rod 27 acts upon a lever 30 having an adjustable pivot 31 for regulating purposes, the lever 30 in turn acting upon another expanding rod 28 which acts on a lever 15, the end 14 of which is thereby withdrawn from a collar 13 on a spring-pressed plunger which then moves rapidly to break the circuit. The plunger has an insulating portion and a conducting portion, one or other of which engages two spring-pressed plunger contacts according to whether the switch is off or on. The pivot 31 is eccentrically mounted on a rod which is rotated by a regulating handle on top of the iron.
