Abstract
383,657. Roller bearings. BARTLETT, B. G. W., 1, Cartmell Terrace, Darlington, Co. Durham. July 25, 1931, No. 21274. [Class 12 (i).] A drum a, for drying or mixing stone or the like, rotates in fixed bearing members e, circumferentially spaced rollers or wheels i being arranged between the drum a and the support e. The wheels contact rails g in the supports e and tyres b, the latter fixed to the drum a by wood or metal chocks c. The spindles k of the rollers are mounted in a ring j. A flanged ring m, fixed to the drum by chocks n, has a resilient lining o on which is mounted a driving sprocket, gear wheel, or pulley, or with which engages a chain, belt, or like driving-means. In a modification, the rollers are of V-shape, roll on tubular members fixed to the drum ends, and are spaced by a series of integrally united or pivoted one to another. Alternatively the roller spacing means may be of annular form and may close the opening between the support and the drum.
