Abstract

402,688. Endless - belt conveyers. SPEAKMAN, J. E. D., WALLACE, J. V., and NEWTON, CHAMBERS, & CO., Ltd., Thorncliffe Ironworks & Collieries, near Sheffield. June 14, 1933, No. 16963. [Class 78 (i).] An idler roller comprises a solid drawn tube 13, end discs 14 which are pressed up from sheet metal and formed with a central recessed portion 17 receiving the outer race 18 of a ball bearing, cover plates 19 which fit over the recesses 17 and extend to the rims 16, and securing bolts 20. The inner races 21 of the ball bearings are fitted on the reduced ends of a stationary shaft 22 which is secured by grub screws 24, Fig. 3, in blocks 23 carried by brackets 4, 5. Each block has a channel 25 formed in there of its faces to receive the bracket.
