383,357. Balancing devices. YOUNG, W., Claydon Works, Mill Road, Wishaw, Lanarkshire. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26712. [Class 78 (ii).] A balancing device for a vertically sliding window or the like comprises pulleys and cables connected to a screwed rotary shaft M<1> adapted to be rotated by a spring-pressed non-rotatable nut G. The spring tension is adjusted by a screwed sleeve J and screw K. The pitch of the screw M<1> may be varied and the screw may be engaged by a ball or pin P. The supports E may be flat stainless-steel bands.
