Abstract
257,189. Pearce & Sons (Brassfounders), Ltd., G. W., and Jones, A. E. E. March 29, 1926. Pivoting adjustments.-The panels of windscreens and like pivoted members are secured in an adjusted position by a friction pivot comprising a tapered socket a<1> engaged by a tapered member b on the end of an arm b<1> carrying the panel, the parts being adjustably secured in position by an operative spindle c which passes through the member b and engages its ends by shoulders c<1>, c<2>, the end c<3> of the spindle having a screwed engagement with the socket member, as shown. The socket is formed with an attachment bracket a. When the spindle is secured into the threaded hole at the lower end of the socket the tapered members are caused to bind together.
