Abstract
383,169. Partitions and baffles in boiler water. WESTWOOD & CO., Ltd., J., Napier Yard, Millwall, and BRITTAIN, P. F., 57, Victoria Street, both in London. April 8, 1932, No. 10155. [Class 123 (ii).] A saddle fitted over a furnace flue 6 to promote the boiler water circulation is supported at the front and rear by members having point contact with the flue walls, and the front supporting members afford an entirely open front for the discharge of the circulating water. The front supporting members consist of pointed rods 8, the central one of which is adjustably secured to a curved frame member 9 carrying the overlapping plates 2 forming the saddle wall. The other supporting rods are adjustably secured to a curved reinforcing strip 10. The saddle is supported at the rear end by pivotally connected plates 18 having pointed ends contacting with the flue wall. A canopy 20 may project from the discharge end of the saddle.
