Abstract

Oils are cracked in apparatus made of steel alloy containing chromium and small amounts of aluminium but no nickel. The chromium content lies preferably between 5 and 8 per cent and the p aluminium from 0,3 to 4 per cent, while the alloy is improved by additions of silicon, molybdenum, vanadium, titanium, and beryllium up to 2 per cent. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 280,537, 296,137, 302,640, 302,644 and 304,303, [all in Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.].ALSO:Oils are cracked in apparatus made of steel alloy containing 5-8 per cent of chromium and 0,3-4 per cent of aluminium but no nickel.
