381,899. Turbines. PICKER, L., 38, Rue du M¶le, Geneva, Switzerland. May 30, 1932, No. 15310. Convention date, May 30, 1931. [Class 110 (iii).] Gas turbine rotors are cooled by water which enters a drum 9 through a hollow shaft 14 and is ejected through the pipes 10 to the blades 3. The water escapes through a sleeve 16 and is forced by a centrifugal pump 19 through a passage 21 to the turbine casing 23 which it cools before escaping by an outlet 24. The pump is mounted on the turbine shaft.
