Abstract

381,771. Sheet metal walls and partitions. BROWN, L. A. L., 87, Havering Road, Romford, Essex, and RONEO, Ltd., 5, Holborn, London. Dec. 10, 1931, Nos. 34205/31 and 16877/32. [Class 20 (iv).] Sheet metal panels are supported by posts made up of four upright sheet metal sections, one pair of which receives the panels and the other pair being detachably fitted over flanged parts of the first pair. As shown, channel members 1 are placed on the floor and support the uprights 4, which are channel sectioned and have their ends 4a turned inwardly. Panels 2 are placed against the uprights 4 and are held in position by bolts 3. Another pair of uprights 6 of channel section are provided with channel members 7, spot welded or otherwise fastened thereto. The members 7 are capable of being sprung into position as shown. A key or spacing plate 5 rests on blisters 4b or other suitable projections on the members 4. In a modification the spacing plate 5 may be provided with projections bearing against inturned edges of the members 6, thereby rendering unnecessary the members 7.
