Abstract

384,717. Shop fronts ; glazing. DUTFIELD, A. E., The Cottage, Fayland Avenue, Streatham Park, London. Sept. 4, 1931, Nos. 24901 and 27848. [Class 20 (iii).] A display cabinet, show-case, or shop front comprises glass sheets held in edge-abutting relation by interior vertical pillars having adjustable brackets provided with outwardly directed stems passing through holes in the sheets and secured by external screws or nuts. Four pillars A resting on foot-plate B are provided with tubular spacers C on which a floor-plate H rests. Each of two of the pillars A carries two right-angled brackets D, provided with screw-threaded stems d and each of the other two pillars carries two plain brackets D<1> provided with stems d<1>. The stems d, d<1> pass through holes in the walls F and are secured by screws E. A roof-plate G is fitted over the top ends of the pillars A and secured by nuts J. The front plate is slidably mounted between channel pieces K and is provided at its lower edge with a metal runner having at its ends a finger pull and a stop. Two or more relatively slidable front plates may be provided.
