Shelves; cabinets.-Supports for vessels &c. having retaining rims or holes, such as those described in Specification 215,447, 224,345, 257,527, and 273,422, [all in Class 128, Table articles &c.], are formed as shelves a, a' mounted on upright rods b and separated by tubular distance-pieces Q threaded on the rods. Several forms of shelf are described. Instead of the shelves being mounted directly on the uprights they may engage with upstanding lugs on horizontal rods supported by the uprights. An arrangement of the shelves in steps is described. The uprights may be finished with ornamental heads c or may terminate in sockets or rings for receiving vases &c. Adjustable brackets f carrying angularly adjustable ring-stands may be mounted on the uprights. At the lower end of the uprights may be arranged cranked members Q<2>, Fig. 13, attached to heavy feet to improve the balance of the device. Sheets of glass with or the like may be arranged vertically between the shelves, either supported by grooved flanges on the shelves, or, as shown in Fig. 16<a> between the heads of studs R passing through the shelves Sa. The heads of the studs may be covered with rubber to avoid chipping the glass. The shelves may be made of glass, in which case flanged rubber washers h, Fig. 11, are inserted between the pieces Q and the shelves.
