222,276. York, A. G. Aug. 15, 1923. Rack stands; flower stands.-A stand for displaying cakes &c. comprises an open frame a, a horizontal cross-bar e pivotally mounted between the upright frame members a, b and provided with two or more pivoted arms i, j carrying at their extremities trays &c. i<1> for supporting dishes, means being provided to automatically lock the cross-bar e in either of the positions shown in Figs. 1 and 4, in which latter position the arms may be rotated in opposite directions as shown in Fig. 13. A tray i<2> may be provided at the centre of the uppermost arm i, the end trays &c. i<1> of which may be aperatured to permit the lower part of tumblers &c. to be passed therethrough and to rest upon the trays &c. i<1> on the arm below. When used as a flower stand the frame uprights may be shortened and the top cross-rail c omitted or replaced by a horizontal circular frame. A hinged or fixed shelf may be fitted between the lower parts of the upright frame members a, b.
