Abstract
381,701. Gas fires. CANNON IRON FOUNDRIES, Ltd., CLAYTON, R. T., and BENTON, W. E., Deepfields, near Bilston, Staffordshire. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26710. [Class 126.] A gas fire comprises a tubular radiant c of a more open skeleton type and of greater diameter than those normally used, with a transparent or translucent chimney r around it, and an atmospheric burner below it of the kind in which the unburnt cone of gas is split up into a number of relatively low cones. The burner shown is of the type in the head of which is a grid formed of slotted intermeshed metal strips p, giving a flame of this character. The chimney may be made of heat-resisting glass, such as that known under the registered Trade Mark " Pyrex." The low unburnt gas cones, and the open character of the radiant result in complete combustion, so that the gases may be discharged into the room, as in the stove shown, which comprises a radiant or radiants arranged behind an aperture b in a front plate a, a curved back-plate e behind the radiant, and a burner n, the supply pipe of which is supported in holes in angle-brackets k forming feet.
