[Class 12 (i).] The halves 1, 2 of a diametrically divided connecting-rod big-end or bearing have interengaging projecting ears 4, 5, through which pass conical adjusting and securing means such as a bolt 6, Fig. 4, having an adjusting-nut 11, The bolt 6 may be replaced by a tapered rod which is adjusted by a screw threaded into a hole in one of the members 4, 5. In a modification, the securing means comprises a pair of conical members 6, 7, Fig. 7, the member 6 having a screwed stem 16 which passes through the member 7 and has a nut 11. The plane containing the axes of the conical securing means 6 may lie in, above, or below, the plane of the joint between the halves 1, 2.
