Abstract

380,516. Conductors. HART BROS. ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. and HART, A., Queensway, Ponders End, Middlesex. June 19, 1931, No. 17826. Drawings to Specification. [Class 36.] An electric conductor for use in wireless sets or the like is provided with an insulating covering which can be slid along the wire to expose a portion of it to facilitate making connections and afterwards returned to place ; the wire includes a certain amount of solder so that joints can be made without the application of solder from without. For these purposes the covering comprises a loosely applied lapping of one or more layers of cotton covering, a layer of thin pure rubber lapped over said cotton, and an outer braiding of cotton impregnated with wax compound. The conductor may consist of a number of strands of copper wire coated with solder in a bath as in ordinary tinning, or one or more strands may be made of solder.
