Abstract

379,877. Heating cooling water. JENKIN, G. A., Anchorage Cottage, Bothwell, Lanarkshire. Sept. 23, 1931, No. 26532. [Class 7 (ii.)] In apparatus for heating the cooling water, when an engine is not in use, in which an electric immersion heater E is mounted in a heat-insulated casing A, which is connected by flexible pipes J, K to low and high points of the cooling system respectively, a non- return valve C<3> prevents back-flow when the apparatus is filled by connecting the pipe J to the drain cock of the radiator. The end of the pipe K may be weighted for insertion in the radiator filler opening or attached to a cock near the top of the cooling system. A filter L, for cleaning the cooling water, is provided.
