Abstract

378,656. Condensers. MEIROWSKY & CO., AKT.-Ges., Porz-on-Rhine, Germany. Sept. 1, 1931, No. 24572. Convention date, Sept. 2, 1930. [Class 38 (ii).] A tubular high-tension condenser, having conducting insertion plates b<1>, b<2> for equalization of the electric field, wound in the paper dielectric, between the-electrodes a<1>, a<2> has a core c of insulating material for example paper impregnated with natural or artificial resin, and an insulating casing f, and the paper dielectric is impregnated with oil under vacuum preferably also under the action of heat. The core may be heathardened after winding and before impregnation. The inner core c may be filled with a solid cylinder of oilimpregnated wood. The casing f may be applied direct to the condenser body as shown or the body may be wound with tape and the casing spaced out therefrom with an oil filling and in this case may be of porcelain with sheds and the metal end caps e<1>, e<2> which serve as terminals may be the means of suspension in chain arrangement.
