Abstract
378,415. Window guides. REID, J. S., 14122, South Park Boulevard, Shaker Heights, Ohio, U.S.A. May 6, 1931, No. 13431. [Class 20 (iii).] A guide channel for sliding windows comprises a U-shaped core 1 with the outer edges of the side walls 2 inwardly turned, a covering oi soft material on both sides of the core, and twc finishing strips 6 respectively secured along one edge to the outer side of each side wall for. masking the outer edge of the latter. Each side wall 2 is formed with an inwardly-turned edge portion 3 formed either by bending back the outer edge of the side wall or by a separate strip welded to the side wall. Each finishing strip 6, which may be formed of stainless steel, is welded to a side wall 2 and has a rolled outer edge. The soft covering for the core and edge portions is formed of an inner layer 8 of rubber and an outer layer 9 of felt, and is omitted at the points of connection of the finishing strips to the side walls. Two rows 11, 12 of perforations are provided in each side wall 2 in order that the rubber covering 8 may be firmly secured to the core.
