378,028. Valve receiving circuits. GORDON, A. K., Beaconstone, Crowborough, Sussex. May 4, 1931, No. 13115. [Class 40 (v).] The gain in a wireless receiver is maintained constant automatically by the provision of a current operated instrument in the anode circuit of the detector valve which is arranged to adjust a differential condenser d, e, f in the aerial circuit. Means are provided to prevent the automatic volume control from affecting the tuning as by shaping the condenser plates. The instrument may be of the moving coil type and be provided with fluid damping. The whole instrument may be immersed in the fluid which may be glycerine which increases the capacity of the condenser and permits the use of a smaller condenser.
