[Class 40 (v)] Control voltages for biassing the high frequency amplifiers of a radio receiver are derived from the load resistance W2 of a rectifier G2 coupled to the output a1, bl of the low frequency amplifier through an intermediate circuit containing a rectifier G1, the bias upon which may be varied to delay the production of the A.V.C. voltage by variation of the current in a resistance W1 from a source V. The transformer T2 coupling the rectifier G2 to the intermediate circuit is of variable ratio.
