Abstract
347,402. Condensers. CHARMAN, F. J. H., 50, Roseberry Gardens, Harringay, London. March 11, 1930, No. 7931. [Class 38 (ii).] The capacity of a condenser is variable as desired from its maximum value to zero. This may be effected by closing an aperture in an earthed screen S, Fig. 1, on each side of which an armature A, B of the condenser is situated, as by a sliding member, iris diaphragm &c., by moving one or both of the armatures to face the solid part of the screen, or by sliding a cylindrical earthed shield F between a central electrode D and an outer cylindrical electrode E, Fig. 5. As an illustration of use, a wireless circuit is described in which such a condenser is used to neutralize the anode-grid capacities of a screen-grid high-frequency valve.
