Abstract

340,399. Valve circuits. LUCAS, O. D., 49, Linden Gardens, Notting Hill Gate, London. Dec. 9, 1920, Nos. 37735/29, 143/30 and 2933/30. [Class 40 (v).] In a mains operated wireless receiver hum is eliminated by providing a potentiometer 8 in the grid circuit of an amplifying valve and adjusting the moving contact which is connected to the grid of the valve. The Figure shows a detector valve 6 which may be resistance or choke capacity coupled only the condenser 9 being shown. A condenser of 2 mfds. or more may be connected between the positive lead to the anode of the input valve and the point from which its grid bias is taken. The filaments are connected in series with resistances 1, 7 and grid bias and anode potentials are obtained from tappings.
