Abstract
Ferment preparations suitable for carrying out proteolytic and/or lipolytic processes are obtained from the pylorus attachments of fish other than plagiostomi. The pylorus attachments are worked up by the processes usually employed in the case of organs of slaughtered animals or by other known methods. The attachments may be comminuted and used direct in aqueous suspension in the drenching of skins and hides, or they may be dried and extracted with organic solvents. Thus, the pylorus attachments are separated from the shell fish or herring, finely comminuted, defatted with acetone or ether and, after separating the solvent, dried. Alternately, the mash of organs can be extracted with dilute alkali. The dry preparations may be mixed with sawdust, inorganic salts or other carriers and diluents as well as activating additions or preserving agents. After suitable fine grinding the product can also be worked up in known manner into pharmaceutical preparations.ALSO:Ferment preparations, which can be worked up after fine grinding into pharmaceutical preparations, are obtained from the pylorus attachments of fish other than plagiostomi.
